Default Ultra Classic detachable tour pak/sissy bar issues?

Okay i installed everything and the TP fits great. I ordered a sissy bar/back rest and tried to install...no good. Yes I bought all of the essential gear and docking points. I know where I may be missing something...does the sissy bar/br install to the TP docking kit points on the bike, OR seperate ones installed? I have a set left over and think they should install further up on the bike. This is a Two Up system. Any pics of docking points installed on a bike for visual? Thx guys.

I'm interested in this too. Mine is at the dealer right now having this done - along with other work. My plan was to switch from EG to SG by taking off the tour pak and putting the sissy bar on.

I have this set-up on my '09 Ultra. Sissy-bar mounts forward of the TP docking points. My sissy-bar goes onto the top of the shock area and clips onto the forward most docking point, leaving the back ones open. Sorry no pics but hope this makes sense. My TP goes on and off no problem but my sissy-bar is real tight to get on. let me know if you have the same issue. Will see if I can take some pics.

Yes. My thoughts exactly. I installed the detach TP hardware fine. But incooperating the detachable sisdy bar stuff is a bit confusing. I am thinking I dont have this detach sissy bar stuff on right. But the HD instructions suck!!!! So i went by the pics. Still not right. Lol

Ultra Dune, thank you. Yes i seen that on the pics, but didnt put them on. So the rear of the sissy bar latch area installs between the TP mounts on the bike?

I assume you have the HD sissy-bar? Mine only locks on on the back. The front mounts slide over and the back ones have the detatch mechanism on it. My TP docking kit came with 4 docking points, but the sissy-bar only uses the 2 closest to the seat. Sorry for the explanation, hope it makes sense.
