Yes, less air flows over the top of the tank at the front..instead there is more air flowing over the engine.

I'm sure there are a dozen reasons why folks do it. To me...it looks good...3" tank lift in the front and 3" rear shock lowering in the back.

Default Tank Lift and impact on seat

Can anyone tell me how the tank lift impacts seat fitment? I am guessing the lift does not impact the back of the tank. More air flow and eaiser access to the rocker box seems like a good idea to me. Thanks in advance.

There are some pics in this video that show what you are looking for.

You can lift just the front of the tank and it does virtually nothing to seat fitment.

You can also add the Deluxe option, which lifts the rear a little also, that will move the front the seat up a bit.

Do these kits lift the entire tank or just the front? If just the front does it affect the fuel level at all? Do you lose capacity or does you fuel gage read different?

The tank lift, lifts just the front of the tank, with the deluxe option it also lifts the rear of the tank.

Both will affect your gauge a little. Both will reduce your usable capacity by about 1/4-1/3 of a gallon, which is irrelevant unless you run your tank dry.

More info HERE.
