Swapped out 255's to tw-555's....

Decided to wait on buying and installing the ever popular FM 107 kit for right now...gotta buy daugther a car for graduation this May...but I am gonna swap out my 255's for the tw-555's.

Ordered the FM pushrods, Woods directional lifters, and the cams. Install scheduled at dealer for Tuesday the 26th. Dealer will also install the new HD oil breathers...maybe that'll help with my blow by.

Looking forward to see if there will be much difference from my current set-up. 103 stgII(255), street port heads with slipons. It'll go in the booth for tuning right after install...

Cant wait...

Sounds like a nice upgrade. I had the 555's in my XBNZ and really enjoyed them. How many hours is your dealer charging btw? Anyone know if the new SE oil breathers are stock on 2011 RKC?

Are you running the thinner head gasket?

phattey 04-20-2011 12:32 PM

Not sure on hours...we agreed on a price. $765.00 OTD - install cams, new bearings; pushrods; breather upgrade ; and tune.

Stock gaskets...

What compression is the 103 kit?

phattey 04-20-2011 12:53 PM

not sure what the HD 103 stg II kit produces...I've heard 9.6:1 and I've heard 10.1:1...

All I know is later this fall we'll install the 107 'cause for now I'm kinda bound to the household budget for now..

You are going to love how quiet the drive-train is with this setup.

I'm unfamiliar with this new product. Do you have a link?

phattey 04-20-2011 01:24 PM

I dont have a link...my tech told me a few months back that the MOCO was updating the oil breather in the rocker box. Proably nothing more than umbrealla valve and a thicker more dense oil gauge...

I'll find out later and will update post..

It was initially targeting 110's but since I have bad blow by, he wants to try it.

I updated mine when swapping the cams... still have oil accumulating within the air filter area....

Bump

I want to follow this, I have the 103/255 combi and really like it. Curious how the cam change will effect the performance.
