I rely on Carfax for issue such as major repairs, locations, damage. The small sh*t such a cosmetic and things that are visible I handle myself.
That's only IF the owner reported the accident and took it to a bodyshop. If they wrecked it, didn't report it, and repaired it themselves, it will not show up in a CarFax report. No matter what the report said, I would still take it to a mech that I trusted and have it checked out.

...that's correct....the front 2 rails of car can be bent at 90 degree angles...sawzalled off at a body shop...and replaced. As long as no claim went in to ins....or even if one did, as long as the damage was coded as "sheet metal" repair..and the little "F" we put in the code column for "Frame" labor rate, was omitted...it won't show up as having any frame repair at all...if no claim was put in..you won't see anything on the report...carfax is not to be the sole criteria for a background check on ANY vehicle...
I got the bike. It has 7000 miles and pretty well loaded. Rinehart true dual exhaust, alarm system, been tuned. I got a real good deal on this one. Runs like a top. Need some highway under it.
