tranny fluid question

Will Harley Davidson Tranmission oil Forumla + work in my 08 road king? Or should i get 75W-90

Many, including me would say that Formula + works fine in the primary but a gear oil should be used in the tranny. Either 75W-90 or the next weight up 75W-140(?).

The most recommended Amsoil is the severe gear 75-110. They also have 75-90 and 75-140. They all blow formula+ out of the water.

If you don't like Amsoil the Mobil 1 can be found in the same weights and is nearly as good.

Although I highly recommend a gear lube in the tranny (what weight and brand is up to you) you can use formula+ as per your owners manual.

For what it's worth I've got Amsoil 75-90 severe gear in my FLHTK's transmission.

If you were to get your bike serviced from a dealer,Formula + is what they would put in there.
I prefer to use a tranny specific lube such as Amsoil Servere Gear.There are many other good brands also.

OK, what am I missing here... why will the recommended Foumula+ (Transmission and Primary Chanincase Lubricant) NOT work in a HD transmission... I got to be missing something here...

What the heck am i missing, i know it works better in the primary than Syn 3 and it says on the lable Primary & Transmission.

Its a sealed system...... What gives?
