Headpipe gaskets
 

i going to get them but i'm taking a poll do i really need new crossover pipe gasket and exhaust gaskets installing 2-1-2 jackpots on 2011 flhx.how many used new and how many used the old.just curious.also muffler clamps how long and how many times can you reuse them.

I used new.

I always change the exhaust gaskets, cheap and easy, I use same clamps, never had a problem there.

I would use new gaskets. The maintenance book says never to reuse torca clamps...they are not expensive, replace them as well. Solving exhaust leaks and decel popping is no fun, better safe than sorry.

I got the FM 2:1, but the primary flanges are the same. I used new OEM tapered gaskets but they squished into the exhaust port(didn't overtighten them), then used SE gaskets but they were too thin, caused the pipe to hit the timing cover. Finally used 2 sets of SE gaskets and some ultra copper permatex. Have had it apart several times, no leaks, no squish into the port, no fitment interference.

Fuel Moto recommends the stock tapered gaskets. The crossover gasket is a bastard to R&R, and most dealers don't stock them. You can reuse that one.

I just put a Jackpot header on my '09, did not use new ones (tapered ones were in there.) No problems...no leaks.
I have also used the same muffler clamps at least a dozen times... no problems with them either.

I reused the exhaust gaskets but had to get a new crossover gasket. Reused the muffler clamps but am thinking about getting a new one for the left side because it is a little loose and can't get it to tighten up any more than it is.

I bought two new gaskets and intended to replace them both with my new exhaust. I put the rear one in and then did not get back to installing my exhaust until a few weeks later. That's when I realized the new front gasket was still in my tool box. The old gasket looked so perfect still, I thought is was the new one. No leaks!
