What's wrong here.
 

Had my outer fairing off today to fix a broken fairing mount. The first pic is the left side, doesn't look as close and tight as the right side (second pic) I tried a number of times to loosen up bolts, and and get it aligned the same, but with no success. Do I need to worry about this? I'm not sure if it was always like this or if I screwed something up.
Can rain/water get in either side? should something else be in here?

Looks like you don't have the windscreen seated into the slots correctly (three cutouts across bottom of windscreen).
If everything lines up correctly, it will close up pretty flush.

If not, it will leave a gap.
