Yeah we do. My wife and I did 3 this year, New Hampshire/ Vermont, Maine and New York. They were a great time. NH/VT was the best for us. We ran into a guy that we went to grammer school and high school with. Had a great time with him and his wife. Turns out they live about 3 miles from us. Go figure. Also turns out that my sons girlfriend and their daughter are friends. Anyway we can't wait for next year. Hope to expand our travels.
I have been to several over the years. LA,TX,MS,AR,GA state rallies I find them ok but a little boring compared to Sturgis, Daytona, Laconia etc. Only Harley approved vendors allowed and tons of HOG rules make them a little boring. I am a lifetime HOG member and have served as officer. I like HOG for local stuff but the rallies leave a little to be desired.
The State HOG Rallies are just OK in my opinion....and I've been going to some of them since 1993. It's the destination and the ride to and from that is the real fun. HD used to have Regional HOG rallies, and I sorely miss those. Guess they just got too big to manage......since HOG depends an awful lot on the Chapters for manpower.
A National rally is an event you should go to at least once.........they are worth the time, sffort and expense. Billings was a great location due to the fabulous scenery that was close by.
Went to the New Mexico state rally last year and had a ball. Mostly riding in the mountains with local chapter members. We were set up to go this year but wife had back problems pop up about the time to go and we had to cancel, hope to make next year if sturgis is not on the radar.
I have attended several State HOG Rallys and most are okay.
We went to the Idaho State HOG Rally this last year, and it was great. They really put on a good time. We also went to the National HOG rally in Billings, Mt. this last year and had a good time.
In addition, we have been the the 95th Anniversary and the 100th Anniversary of Harley Davidson, and the 15th and 20th Anniversary of HOG in Wisconsin, as well as taking the Harley Route 66 tour in 1996.
While HOG and the other HD Rallys are more mild mannered than Sturgis, Laughlin, 4 Corners, and some others we have been to, they are still a good time.
