So, what is a 2002 RG with 105K on it worth?

I thought about that before I updated the cams, camplate & oil pump, but it's running great and really doesn't need it. I wouldn't be afraid to head out on this bike anywhere....

I think this is a great idea! It should get you more trade in value. Do they start the mileage over after remanufacturing? Could you put in a new motor and keep it?

I sold my well maintained Evo with over 100K on the clock and to this day the guy rides the crap out of it. Still purrs like a kitten. When you take good care of them, they pay you back two fold. Keep her and keep riding!

I good well written ebay ad with a TON of pictures and description will bring you $6500 plus!! The truth is that there aren't any decent big twins in that price range and you'll find many that don't care about the mileage. List it for $3500 no reserve, three day auction ending on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon and it'll go.

"More than a few of us know that 2002 was the best year ever for Harley baggers"

This was true at one time, but not anymore. I'm sure a new touring bike or at least 09' or newer is a better bike than the 02's.

Sorry Wally it's still true. The '02 is the only bike that has the hot forged crank, Timken lefty bearing support (like 99 to 01,) but with the "newer " swingarm and Delphi fuel injection.

Nothing after 02 has it, and the 07's and later taught us phrases like "scissored crankshaft" & "knocking compensators." And the "new" frame doesn't compensate for that.

I'd freshen up the heads, wheel bearings and motor mount and drive that 02 another 100,000 miles, ( just like I'm doing with mine.)

If its clean looking runs good. I would not take less then 5K but I think you could get 7K easy. 5K would be a steal for someone. 7K a fair price. And 9 K or more a home run for the seller.

Not to mention "limp mode." Those are features of these new "improved" tourers. I would love to buy a new 2012, but I just don't think I would trust it like I do my old bikes. I'll never sell my '02 either. 50,000 miles and no, I mean zero problems after installing 95" big bore, gear drive cams, and a S.E. six speed. I have other bikes but this one is the best I've ever owned.

I could buy one with 10K for that. Depends how long you want to take to sell it, I guess. $6K would be good, IMO...
