Horn sounds sick

Had to lay on the horn for some azzhat who pulled out in front of me. Don't think I have really laid on the horn since I bought the bike. It sounds like it has laryngitis. Kinda a sickly sounding maybe trying to get a dual tone but not really.

I did not pull it or check my wires yet. I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow.

Anything common that I should be checking for?

Take a 10 mm wrench or socket and slightly loosen the bolt that holds the horn into the cover. This will prob fix ya up.

I had the exact problem. I removed the horn and while holding it with the horn opening facing down, gently tapped it with a rubber mallet.
Heaps of rust particles fell out, and after blowing it out with compressed air, hit it inside with a spray of rust preventative. That fixed it up for me.

The horn isn't loud enough when it works right, a good air horn is an even better solution.

My stock horn quit working after multiple rides in the rain, so I put a set of rivco air horns on, now everyone can hear me.

Get a can of silicone spray and then spray the snot out of the inside of the horn. It will start working again.

Mine did the same thing, found it full of water. I am an all year/weather rider. I drilled a hole in the center to get all the water out, was never the same. I invested in a Mini Beast. A great horn, looks good, and well worth the cash.

Mine crapped out after about 3 months, replaced it with Howards horn duels. I just love watching cagers come unglued.

*UPDATE*

Pulled the horn, saw the problem right away. I have an LED light behind the horn cover pointing at the engine. well the 2 sided tape didn't hold it in place and it wedged itself between the cover and the horn. Pulled it out, and whalah, it works as it should. I used some gorilla glue to hold the LED in place, shouldn't bounce out anymore.
