Easy Off oven cleaner. Of course only riding 3k miles a year I'm surprised you noticed. Isn't that a weekend trip?

I have tried Easy Off and it does little to cut melted rubber but Harley has a new product that actually does work very good. Get some HD Boot Mark Remover Part No. 93600001

EZ Off works on some of them. The one I've got an issue with is from a helmet strap that hung down from the seat where I'd put the helmet w/o checking where the strap ended up. (!) The oven cleaner took off most, but I'm afraid that the synthetic material in the strap might be something else to remove! I'll check out the HD product too.

In Alaska riding 33 k in 11 yrs is pretty good.Riding season is only 3-4 months and many days are marginal.ie Cold as crap- rainy. Also our roads are few and in poor shape. Then theres road construction. Need I go on ? Thanks for the tip. Off to the Harley shop I go.

Well I got lucky. My heel was in between the chrome covers on the main pipe so thats where the blob was.Warmed up bike a wee bit but not hot layed a gun patch soaked in Kroil oil on it. Let it set awhile. Took a small piece of green scotch brite pad and it came off with a lot of scrubbling. Took a white scotch brite and Mothers mag polish and shined it up. Good as new. Going to be hot (65) and sunny this afternoon. Ride on. Thanks
