Looking for all the baggers out there using the Revolution Performance EMS and how do they like it. I just got mine in the mail and waiting for the ECM to come back. Any pointers will be great before installation.....
I'm in the process of installing mine. You likely need a crows foot to get the O2 sensors.
I didnt care for the the wires to the front sensor running along the left side of motor, so I pulled the tank and ran them in the wire housing. Much cleaner install and there is plenty of wire length to do this. Because the new O2 sensors are wide band, they are longer on the external end than the stock sensor. Its a a close fit to the case. I'm having a bugger of a time getting the new rear sensor threaded in. Tonight am going to try a thread chaser and some (sensor safe) anti sieze. May have to pull the headers to get enough clearance, we'll see. Other than that its pretty straightforward, just take your time.
Print out the install directions from their website cause the ones that come with the EMS are small and a little hard to read (for me, I'm half blind).
Have plenty of tie straps handy. One other thing I did: I was uneasy about the EMS taped to the outside of the fuseblock cover, thinking over time with heat and everything, the unit could come off and dangle by its wires for God knows how long, so I tie strapped around the front on the EMS and fuse cover for better security.
I'm doing a bunch of other things to my bike besides this tuner and plan on posting a ride report when its buttoned up.
Good luck with your install. Andrew at Rev Perf has been very helpful and quick to respond to my questions.
My son put one on his 09 Softail Custom. He had a V&H fuelpak on it and it did fine even after he changed the cam. But he increased it to a 107 and they did not have anything for that so he went with the RPP EMS and it runs great. Engine is much smoother. I will put one on mine shortly.
