Quick question on belt change out
In order to switch out the final drive belt on a '99 RK, do I need to disassemble the primary (Chain & Clutch basket)?.

The complete primary has to come off. Outer, all the guts, and the inner......
|
.....plus the rear wheel and swingarm and shocks.....
|
2 hour job if you're handy and comfortable with it.......
|
Too Damn hot for this......

Booked as an 8-hour job at the dealer. Two of us can do it in 4. Gotta remove a lot of stuff on a bagger just to get to it. |

Thorough maybe.....that includes an extra trip to get new swingarm bushings and shift lever after we got evreything apart. Might as well take care of anything else that may be older or worn while you are able to get at it.
