Quick question on belt change out

In order to switch out the final drive belt on a '99 RK, do I need to disassemble the primary (Chain & Clutch basket)?.

The complete primary has to come off. Outer, all the guts, and the inner......

.....plus the rear wheel and swingarm and shocks.....

Well, I guess I better prepare myself for a long day of belt swapping.

What the hell did you change the belt on? A Whizzer?
Booked as an 8-hour job at the dealer. Two of us can do it in 4. Gotta remove a lot of stuff on a bagger just to get to it.

I'm going from a 70 tooth sprocket to a 68 T, so, I need to go to a 1 1/4" belt. This will be tha 3rd belt change out for me, on different scoots. I do tha work by my lonesome, I trust nobody but me to work on it.

The roadking in my sig pic.
If it takes 2 of you 4 hours, you're slow as hell, or you're getting in each other's way.......

Thorough maybe.....that includes an extra trip to get new swingarm bushings and shift lever after we got evreything apart. Might as well take care of anything else that may be older or worn while you are able to get at it.
