LED light/ Load eqaulizer questions
Have a 2011 Streetglide and recently purchased the smoked rear taillight/turn signal smoked bullet lense covers. Used the factory amber bulb in front and got a red 1157 LED bulb from autozone for the rear signal/brake lights. Started reading on here today that you need a load equalizer if you are running LED's? Mine are working fine with the brake and signal working. Left them on for like 10-15 min today and no issues? Is this going to become an issue with out that? They appear to be same brightness as stock bulb. Thanks

You can sometimes get away with running some depending on the bulbs.
Those auto zone ones are not very bright though. I ran them in the past and have some buddies that run them and you can't see them hardly at all out on the road. Try a set of radiantz LED's and you will see the difference. |
As long as you only run one pair (rear) of LEDs you should be fine. If you decide to change your front turn signals to LEDs you will need a load equalizer. That is how the guy at Chrome Glow explained it to me.

Thanks, I am going to get these out in the sun and see how they look. My bike has just the rear brake/turn signal lights so having a hard time finding the 1157 bulb in red for the rear. Which exact ones you have from radiantz?
I am not at home but they are the pancake looking ones listed for factory bullet signals. |

You will have to get the ones they list for front, since the rear on the new SG's are dual element just order them in red.
