Default HarleyGoodies Floorboard Extensions: Do They Affect Your Lean Angle?

For those who have the HarleyGoodies Floorboard Extensions installed, do you find that you're scraping hard parts more frequently now?

I love the concept (and the promise of comfort for your feet), but I'm concerned that moving those floorboards out 1 inch may limit the maneuverability of the SG.

I emailed the company, but have yet to receive a reply. While I await their reply, I'd like to hear from those who actually use (or have used) the product.

Thanks for your input.

They do. Also note that the street glide is lower to begin with. And it also depends how much you dare to lean.

I installed the Soos, (site sponsor) 1" floor board extenders on my '10 Road King. I haven't noticed any less lean angle but I'm sure there's a very slight difference. Soos also sells 3/4" extenders but I don't think that's necessary. I love mine, far more comfortable especially at highway speeds, feet stayed planted. Plus more useable foot space.

As a point of reference my inseam is 32" and shoe size is 10.

If you know how to lean cruiser, then yes. I have a sport bike background, including track days, so leaning hard is 2nd nature to me. After installing them, I purposely leaned hard to see where the max lean angle was before scraping. Now I just take the twisties a few mph slower to avoid it. No biggie. Cruisers are for slower cruising anyway. When I wanna get buck wild, I just ride the Yamaha R1 instead of the Road Glide Custom.

I have had them on my last 3 bikes. Yes, you will touch down a bit sooner with them....but the difference is not so drastic that it takes any of the fun out of the twistys.

I don't know what some of you are doing that causes you to drag but even with the footboard extensions I haven't been able to drag anything. Of course I'm not trying to drag either.

I have an 02 RK with the extenders on and the footboards all the way up (I am short). My tire chicken strips are very skinny and I have never hit the boards. On my FXD I was scrapin pretty often.

Bought mine from Soos (a forum member) he offers them in 3/4 and 1". I lean pretty hard and have never heard them scrape. I'm sure the angle has changed by a few degrees.
