Obviously some type of fuel/electrical issue & we could sit here playing the internet forum guessing game for weeks...I'd say take the bike in for maint check & let the mechanic(s) hash this one out. Especially if you want to get riding again...soon. Way too many computer checkpoints & hard to narrow if you're not throwing code(s).
after that....I would have to agree...sounds like a timing problem...if it jumped timing it could be a valve hitting the piston...also backfiring out of the intake/ running hot ='s timing problem.....with no codes it is probably not a fuel problem...
there is a connection on fuel cannister that breaks at about 25k miles, just changed one out for a friend bike runs like crap almost like its out of timeing..aka no fuel pressure...there was a recall
My bike was not part of that recall. However it could still have happened. I'm removing the cam cover and checking to see if there is any wear on the tensioners or if the chain skipped a tooth. And also going to check the fuel quick disconnect. I still think its a timing issue.
I had a 2008 street glide and went on a poker run and when I went to leave after last stop it was doing what your bike is doing now. I had a cracked fuel filter canister. It is made out of plastic and is located inside your fuel tank. If this is your problem you can hear it pumping gas back into your tank. Your bike will not prime the fuel injection with a cracked filter. There was a recall on the fuel filter canister and it was fixed at no cost to me.
