i dont know what sound difference a cat makes, but i have gutted a few mufflers for my 01,stock,80's,05 roadking mufflers..it always sounded horrible. like a tractor with a cracked exhaust, nothing like a harley.cut out baffles on a 90's sportster,03 softail,77 flh, and a honda shadow 600,all sounded great, touring mufflers just arnt the same

Yeah I have a good MATCO metal hole saw kit and with the cordless screamin away it took a good 2-3 minutes worth of cutting to get them out. Piece if cake.

I'll work on getting a sound clip. Probably won't be until the weekend though. I promise you it sounds good and not like a tractor.

The guts out of yours and the guts out of my 2010 Road King are not the same. The one on the right muffler was the same but what came out of the left muffler was totally different. I cut mine out with a 2.5" cut off wheel in a die grinder. Both out slick in less than 10 minutes.

I have a 2012 Steet Glide and at this point in time this is what I am planning on doing. I assume is has no affect on the warranty? Except for the exhaust.

Still running the cat. I see no need to remove it. I like the way she sounds now plus I won't need a re-tune for just cutting out the baffles.

thats what i did to my 2012 SG and it sounds great!! it cost 20 bucks for the 1.5 inch hole saw and maybe less then 5 minutes to do the job! funny thing is my friend sent his stock pipes to american custom exhaust and payed 200 bucks for the exact same job!!! yes thats all they do guys!! they also charge you for your baffles back because they weld a little flange on and tap two holes incase you want to put the baffles back in. buyer beware!!!!!!

I am overseas so I can't look at my bike right now so this may sound like a dumb question. Is my assumption that the baffles are removed from the outlet end correct? Other than the S.E. air cleaner that you put on is there anything else that needs to be done to account for the change in back pressure on the engine?

CVO exhaust baffles are totally different than the regular bikes.

You cannot drill out the baffles, you have to grind the spot welds off the end of the baffles to remove them.
