Not sure how often your manual refers to a filter change but the first signs of a stopped up one is the lack idle control since it will lower the injector spray and it's very short duration at idle. Just my opinion but unless you fill you Harley from your rusty lawn mower can or get your gas from a backs wood country store the filter will go 100K with no problem. However it a darn good post (love the pictures by 9touring) and saving this in by fuel folder

With 50k on my 09, my filter was near fully black. The quality of gas at pumps these days is **** imho. I am not going to go over 25k from here on out. Especially not with how easy it is to replace.
