Default Captain Itch Crotch Cooler/Leather Heat Shield

For you guys who have/had Captain Itch's Crotch Cooler/Leather Heat Shield, I'm interested in learning more about your own personal experiences with it.

Does the plain heat shield have any stitching or design on it?

Does the Crotch Cooler lay flat against the frame when installed? If so, then how? I ask because the photos I've seen show that the installed Crotch Cooler is angled toward the front of the bike. At that angle, it doesn't seem that the shield would naturally lay flat without some "help".

Can you post a close-up shot of your Crotch Cooler?

Thanks for your help.

I am curious about the same thing, does it lay flat or does it look like dumbo trying to take flight?? Do they work with the Harley installed heat shields?

The heat of the engine and weight of your legs molds it. It doesn't really lay flat it sorts a curves inwards. Looks good and works great.

Did you check the pics on his website: http://www.shop.captain-itch.com/Crotch-Cooler_c3.htm

I bought the drink holders and it's excellent quality (don't have a heat issue on my "old" scoot...)

No, guys, I'm not trying to make my own.

After hearing my wife complain about the heat on our ride last Saturday, I thought I'd try to do something about it. I'm just very particular about what I put on my bike.

Out of the heat shields that I mentioned, I think I like the Crotch Cooler most; however, if it looks like Dumbo trying to fly, then it's not for me. If it has stitching around the edges, that's okay; however, if it's not otherwise plain, then it's not for me.

I can always get the Company's point of view, but I figured that a customer would provide a better point of reference.

Does that clear it up for you?

Yes and I feel the same as you do about stuff on my bike.

"Curves inward" is okay. "Looks good and works great" is great.

Yes, I did. I couldn't tell if they laid flat naturally or if they were somehow held down from behind. I also couldn't get a good, close view of the plain shield.
