[QUOTE=djyoung214;8712495]That mean I'm pretty much in the clear from all the cam bearing and tensioner drama?
QUOTE]

That would eliminate the cam bearing recall, but the spring loaded tensions ran on bikes through '06.

Yeah a buddy who owns a harley shop kept pursuading me to buy a 1998 Road King with about 22K miles and told me that everything about the earlier Evo bikes represents what the "REAL" Harley Davidsons are.
I would have considered it but it was more expensive than the 2000...
I dunno... The 2000 Road King just whispered to me.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
Honestly I don't know what I would do if it wasn't for this forum.
I'm in Korea right now and not many know the Harleys before fuel injection.

Anyhow, thanks. I'm taking off to pick up the bike right now! YAY!

Of course its original paint so the luster is probably not as nice but overall I'm very happy about it.

Looks nice!
What's that mounted behind the pass footboard? Looks like a speaker or siren.

don't know what you paid for it, but it looks nice and certainly has enough motor and drive to take it anywhere you want to go.

Default OH yeah, the siren~

I live and work in South Korea right now and yeah, that's a Whelen siren. The same ones cops use.
There aren't any laws against having sirens and police strobes on your bike so alot of the Korean bikers have em on. Or there may be some law but in's not enforced.
Most of the guys that ride tourers and some Softails get some kind of siren and crazy strobes so they're more visible and audible.
Korean drivers can be pretty aggressive and many of them aren't all that great at driving so the sirens can come in handy.

Just thought I'd share a couple of shots from a mountain river tour we planned, we were just gonna ride in our swimming trunks and jump it but it started raining. We decided to push on but it rained ALOT...
There was a torrential rain warning that day...

Anyone know what that last orange model is? That guy was the one who kept pursuading me to get that 98 with the EVO. He's pretty hardcore oldschool.

As you can see there's alot of love for HD and American style bikes in Korea too.
