2000 Road King reliable? Good to go?

I didn't really look at it. The picture was taken right before I bought it.

Awesome!
Well I took it on my first long ride.
It's great.
But to be honest, coming off of a 2009 FI Street Bob with HB, exhaust and mapping, I gotta say that the RK is pretty slow and less responsive.
But for some reason, I LOVE IT!
There's like a nostalgic feel to it since its carburated. Like the difference between LPs and CDs.

It just had everything I was looking for and I liked the paint scheme too.
I know I'm like speaking in code but the prices of Harley's are different here.
I paid a little under $20,000. A new Road King goes for a little over $31,000 and the 1998 Road King CVO was going for $22,000.
One thing that's good is that carburated models here in Korea don't drop in value since you can't by them anymore. Injections on the other hand drop significantly more. I can ride this about 20-30 thousand more miles and then sell it for probably around 19 grand? That is if I ever want to sell it.
The only thing I really don't care for is the reverse gear.
I think I'm gonna take that out and sell it or something.

Good to go
Hi everyone,
I need some Road King newbie advice.
I've got the carb itch and been looking for a carb Road King.
I found two. One is a 1998 Road King with the Evo engine, has about 21000 miles.
The other is a 2000 Road King has about 18000 miles.
I think both are great but I'm leaning on the 2000.
Which is more reliable and has less history of breaking down?
I've heard of the cam bearing thing on the 2000 model, I'm gonna check the manufacture year and run the vin number to see what's up.
But other than that?
I'd like to hear from people who've actually owned the oldies.
Thanks a mil!
