So I will have just the bare fender that I see now when I remove my detachable luggage rack and passenger backrest? If that is the case then I think I will be going that route.

Yes the "detachable tour pak and it's mounting rack" mount just like your luggage rack does.

and your fender will look like this when it's off:

Texas, THANKS! Just what I needed to see to push me over. Question for you. Is the rear pad optional on the chopped tourpak? I really dont need it as I will be riding solo when the tourpak is on the bike. By the way, would you have the HD part numbers for the detachable rack? I see a few different numbers on the HD website and wanna make sure I order up the correct one. I am strictly looking at this as "luggage" that will only be on the bike while I am touring. Will also probably add an Airwing rack to the top of the tourpak although I am somewhat concerned about how much weight the top of the tourpak will support without cracking it or something. Again, thanks for the photos. Great looking bike!

I got the king tour pack cause my wife packs a lot of stuff. she doesn't go often but I wanted to have the room when she does. they are very nice. the chopped pack looks alot better and I to got the rack for the tour pack. was going to get the airwing but opted for the premium rack cause I think it looks like it holds a larger bag or suit case.

2 up T Pak Mounting rack 53276-09A 179.95 is what i got for my bike from LSHD1 at a discounted price. this rack works in the two up position. If you want a one up mount so its closer to you when riding and can be used as a back rest for you while riding you will need the solo mount. but u cant have a passenger and I am not sure if you will need a solo seat or not. I have a corbin with the detachable pass pillion so it doesnt matter to me.
