Monkey bars/mini apes

Hello to all

I live in the Uk and trying to build a bagger which are quiet rare over here I would like to see, get information on bars. I was thinking 8inch or 10inch max and quite like the Paul Yaffe ones.

Does any one have a pic of low (10inch and below)bars on their bike?
allso does it make a lot of difference with your hands above the batwing?

Thanks for your help

Thanks I have looked on Yaffe`s site and googled it ..mostly higher bars. I was just wondering if anyone went for the 8inch size?

8" is pretty much stock. Just look at your bike as it is now, it will look the same.

Yaffe's bars are taller than others measurments. My recommendation would be to look at the websites of bars you are interested in. You will see Wild Ones 12.5 inch is barley at the top of the batwing, but a 12" Monkey Bar is well above the batwing (some of it could be camera angle).

I ended up going with LA Chopper's Prime Apes, 13". Should be getting delivered today (too bad I'm in Iraq, but they will be installed and waiting for me when I get home).

Oh, and LA Choppers gives a 15% discount also.

Thats just wonderful, I remember when my bars were delivered, when I got home they were still sitting on the porch.

I see being in Iraq has its up side.

Enjoy the bars and thanks for serving.

Yaffe mokey bars 10" will keep your hands below the top of the fairing.... they are about the only ones.... Santee makes an 11" bar with a more traditional look.. they are a liitle wider though.. they are cheap too.. about $100
you will find alot of bagger "apes" are WIDE.... 37"+... the Yaffes are about 35.5"

8" would be a waste of time..they say stock bars are 7"
Wild 1 577 bars are 12.5" you ands will be over the fairing

i just saw a Blacked out Street Glide in BAGGERS magazine.. had Carlini's new 12" bagger bars (actually had a misprint in the parts sheet said Carlini 13"..no such animal).. they looked nice just below top of the fairing

you could also check out Todd's Cycle....they make a pretty cool 10" bagger bar

hope this helps.. i know the bar thing can be frustrating.. 12" isn't 12" depending on who you ask (and i don't mean women..haha)

p.s. i have a set of black 10" Yaffes in a box waiting to go on my bike

Check out BR's site. Give him your specs and he'll make them for you. This might be the way to go if you want a certain height but below the top of the fairing. I might go this route when I do mine.

It's true 8 or 10...not much difference than stock. Here's Wild 1's 577 they are 12.5 inches. It took about 50-100 miles to get use to them, now I'm gald I went wiyh 12.5 inches.

HarleyUK ... Your right about baggers being rare here in England have been toying with the idea of getting a SG and giving it the touch ..... have seen various baggers on this forum with either 10" and 12" and both look better than stock ..... if you go to the Paul Yaffe site he has a section that shows bars at various sizes on a mock up Batwing so you can see the difference ....
