Does SE Ventilator Leak Oil Often or just sometimes?

After doing a lot of searching and reading on the forum today I am kinda confused now with the oil leaking from the Screaming Eagle Ventilator?. I've read this has happened on the Ventilators but it sounds like some not all? My thoughts were if the SE Ventilator had the tendency to leak oil why would the MOCO be putting on the CVO bikes? Do we need to do something different to make it "not" leak oil if we install it as a aftermarket part?

Thanks for any feedback or thoughts you may have.

I had one on my Fat Bob when I had it, and it never leaked any oil.

I "think" in most of the oil leak cases, it can be traced back to some sort of install issue or over filling the oil.

Mine was leaking oil. Got the install instructions off the web and checked the torque on all the bolts. Now it doesn't leak.

Mine has never leaked..........but I dont fill my oil to the top either.........if you fill yer oil to the full mark they will all drip......

Mine leaks. I have re torqued and did not help.

The dealer told me it was a common issue. I just recently went for a 1200 mile road trip and I had oil on my headers that was burned on......

Think I and gonna start looking at another breather....

Two options to suggest:

1. Make sure you run oil ~1/2 qt less that HD spec (i.e. between ful & add marks).
2. Check to make sure breather tubes aren't plugged/gummed/cracked.

Both of these will cause blow-by/drips from a/c.

Bingo .... Having oil level right in the middle will eliminate oil blow by in the Ventilator intake .....

Installed mine over the winter, changed to k&n filter when it became available, did a couple of road trips and local riding no leaks

My SE Ventilator was properly installed, TWICE! I'm running a half quart down from full and I don't lug the motor and it still pukes a little oil.

I notice oil spots on the filter, thankfully it doesn't go any further!

To me it looks like the filter wire is going rusty and therefore drives me nuts!!!!

My RSD air cleaner is arriving today so gonna get rid of the Ventilator and hopefully won't see any more oil....
