Inner fairing

I was told today that Lakeside HD (20% dealer) will no longer offer the painted inner fairing via internet due to quality control issues. My options are find another 20% dealer, pay retail so it can be inspected or have mine painted.

Kind of on the fence now due to cost.

Had mine painted locally and saved a lot of money. Here in DFW I paid $225 to have an inner batwing and $300 for an inner RG.

Bought mine from Zanotti http://shop.zanottimotor.com/ for my '09 Big Blue Pearl.
It was perfect, then I sold my old one here in the classifieds for $100 plus shipping.

Agree...spread the word/ask around & find local painter to do the job. Alot cheaper & you'll know it fits b/c it came off your original bike. Good luck!

I thought it was odd when Bill Sparks of Lake Shore HD told me the same thing about quality issues. Yet they still offer the painted lowers??? I kind of figured I'd give my dealer a shot since they give the local HOG Chapter 10% off. Still no where near the Lake Shore price, but at least if there is an issue I can say take it back and not take a hit for shipping.

+1 on trying to use a local guy to do it. Had a local painter do the inner fairing along with top and bottom of a tour pac along with a little air brush work around the guages and speakers for 450.00 could not be happier.

Find a used stock inner faring for sale on the internet. Buy it and have it painted locally to your color specifications. Then once you get it back from the painter, you can install it with very minimal downtime. Then sell your stock inner faring to someone else. Done.
