I'll go either the AE or ME880 route. Local indy swears by the 880 as better grip with minimal wear differences. AE's seem to be lasting many miles tho....

I am interested in why the OP is not interested in the American Elite also. I too will soon be replacing the original Dunlop on my 2010 FLHTCU. I have heard nothing but good things about the Elite. I hate every tire thread on here turns into a car tire discussion. That is just something I would never consider until either the moco or a tire manufacture recommends them on a motorcycle. I figure there has got to be a reason why neither do. JMO

To others, thanks for the advice.

I went with the Metzeler ME880. It cost me $170 for the tire and $48 for the installation.

I'm not really interested in the Dunlop American Elite because of poor performance I've seen on Dunlop d407s. Not just mine, but with other riders.

That put me off the Dunlop brand - especially at the price point its listed at.

Yeah, I know it's a different product with different specs/construction, but I'm a bit wary.
