Default Pushrod length after milling heads

Thinking of increasing the comp ratio slightly by going with .030 Cometic head gasket and while the heads are off milling them .020. Now, would adjustable pushrods be the way to go or would it be more prudent to go with SE Perfect Fit rods in (for example) a - .030 length? This is going to be installed in an overbored '96 (103") with Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons which are advertised at about 10:1. There are a million cam choices out there with opinions accompanying eveyr one, basically all net around 100 torque with a good tune but I'm wondering if all the popular ones have the stock base circle numbers which would affect the rod length too wouldn't it? Cyclerama 575 / Andrews 48h / T-Man TR555 Torqster / Reaper 525 / SE 204 or 254E's Thanks for all the help.

I would use the adjustables. I don't think the base circle get's smaller until lifts higher than .650. Cometic also makes .027 head gaskets if your pistons are in the hole. What are you using for a tuner?

I would suggest not milling the heads- the heads on my FXRP were factory milled .060 causing a slight interface problems with pushrods ( can only use adjutables), intake manifolds and other clearance issues here and there.

If you want to change comp ratio, do it with the pistons

the big tuning performance company in the city 5 hours where I live likes the Direct Link set-up I think they called it. The fellow I talked to there wasn't in favor of anything piggy-backed on the bike. Don't ask me what's good but they want $850for that installed and a good dyno run(s). Thanks Lonewolf

I appreciate your comments Mike, I agree. Already have the pistons in my hand and would like a titch more comp. We dragraced for 15 plus years and found that compression was where it was at and we did it with pistons also, not milling the heads but since I have the slugs in my hands... Thanks Mike
