Extended warranties are just like insurance. A total waste of money until you need it. Then it's golden.

They are insurance. They are stacked against you. There will always be the stories about how they saved someones bacon. But I think you would be really surprised if you saw the profits from them.

In these tough times, it seems some dealers are going out of their way to screw customers.

I just passed on the extended warranty option fearing my reaction to "that's not covered" or some other kind of sham like the the OP is experiencing.

Still love my bike if not all of the Harley corporation/dealer network based on what I read here. Sheesh!

I traded in 3bikes in last 6 years with EXT warranty but refunds were very reasonable, it depends on dealers and stealers assuming our local dealer is good one.

It's good news you are getting some money back, and as long as it's properly pro-rated, that's great. I have been on the fence as far as an extended warranty, I didn't get one. My warranty runs out this March. Never used the standard 2-year warranty once. The fact the warranty is running out makes it real easy to head down to Fuel Moto next summer for a 107

When I bought my bike privately last July, I transfered his extended warranty over to me. Just had to have the entire motor torn down to the crank 'cause the factory didn't seal the cases properly. Glad I had it!

Im not sure what else i can do I was going to go to small claims court.before they decide they would send me a nother $450.00. They will brobably be able to justify the other $635.00 some how in court.
