Chrome Switch Covers

Has anyone installed the chrome audio, cruise and mode switch cap covers? I removed my stock ones with the supplied tool but can't seem to be able get the new ones on. Any one done this before?

I'm assuming you got a set of chrome covers that had the cutouts but you don't actually have the cruise and all? If so I would just use a little hot glue or silicone to hold them on. Put them on and drizzle a little sealer inside the cover

Thanks for the reply. I do have cruise and I removed the stock black caps with the supplied tool but I can't get the chrome caps to go on.

they are testy little boogers but be patient and apply steadily increasing pressure until the snap onto the sperate switches. BE VERY CAREFUL
the bottom switches on bothe sides as they are very easy to break as you
put on those chrome caps.

Let us know how that works out. I am interested in doing this, but after the nightmare of putting similar chrome switches on my Sporty, I have been gun shy on this one.

Yeah, I destroyed the PTT switch on mine. Nice looking mod, but a bit of a PITA to install.

Chrome switch covers

The other chrome caps went on just fine, however these three caps are a totaly different animal. Very hard to push on.

I broke the Volume switch another set of switches and the switch, $100.00 extra so be careful.

The Vol control and the Cruise control switches look identical, however the brass post on each of them are oriented different. If you accidently switched the switches during assy, or oriented them 180 degrees wrong, the post will not allow the corresponding cap to fit in it's proper slot.
Just a thought.
I ruined my switch getting the cap off - thought I fixed it, but no such luck. Looks like a new switch for me.

Chrome switch covers

I finally got them on. I had to open up the holes on the chrome covers with a screw driver and with a little pressure they went on. Now I see why the cvo models kept the black covers. Thanks for everyones help.
