Default Fosgate PBR300.4

I was just researching this amp. According to the website it's a 4 ohm amp. I have the J&M 7.25's which i believe are 2 ohm and ill be getting some sort of 6x9 for the lids. Will running 2 ohm fronts damage the amp or speakers?

this amp is not 2 ohm stable,u can use 2 2 ohm speakers if..u wire them in series, this shows the amp a 4 ohm load but cuts the wattage in half.it would also require 4 2 ohm speakers to use 2 channels.

Excuse my ignorance but could you solder in 2 ohm resistors to make them 4 ohms?

not sure but,i would go with 4 ohm speaker and not cut the power in half,a 100$set of 6.5 would sound better at full power than 7.25 at half power.

I would get a nice set of 4 ohm 6.5's for the front to make everything match IMHO. I'm running two of those rockford amps with 4 speakers in the fairing and a set in my lowers and the thing freaking rocks! Looking at saddlebag lid speakers down the road to fill my remaining 2 open channels

That Fosagate link with shipping comes out to around $176.00 or so. I'm still looking for one around $150.00 to my door.
