Default ABS light stays on

Lately my ABS light is staying on. Strangely, it does it when I start my bike and then have to back up before taking off. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I am planning to do a brake job to replace the pads front and rear. I have 45K miles on the bike.

Pinched wire left side of the Nacelle by the steering neck where it connects to the harness, just an idea.

Also, check the fuse. If the fuse is blown, the light will stay on.

I thought it was normal for the light to stay on, until you traveled forward some

Had the exact same problem. Follow the wire for your front brake, and make sure it isn't pinched anywhere.

its supposed to stay on when you start the bike, until you are moving between 3-8 mph. if your riding more than 10 mph and the light is on, then you have a problem with your abs system.

Thanks for all the responses. The light blinks as it should until I start rolling forward and then it goes out, but if I back up first the light stays on. I will check the wires. If I recall correctly, this started after I had new tires installed.
