Question IMC MotoCom & IS-33

I've read good things about IMC Motocom here on the forum so I bought 2 H130's to put in my HJC IS-33.

I must be missing the obvious here. There are no instructions other than a sheet saying to stick the microphone to the inside of the helmet.

My question is what do you do with the attachment plug? The part that the coiled cord plugs into? There's a pack of velcro in the kit. Do you velcro it to the side of the helmet? My main concern is that the strain of the coiled cord will pull the velcro'd plug off of the helmet. As soon as that happens it will pull all the stuffed/routed wires out of the helmet. The OEM headset I have clamps securely to the helmet.

Thanks for the info. It has to be secured somehow, or the wires will be pulled out. I'm really surprised there is no factory method.

Do they work much better than the old style OEM headsets?

Thumbs up Imc

I got one of these for my wifes 3/4 helmet. Fits great with velcro, it has never pulled out. She has had no problems, and we use them alot.

I secured mine when i installed it so i never used it without the tie wrap....I do agree that it should have some kind of securing device for it but ????

Did you velcro the plug end to the outside of the helmet or just the cord near the plug? I haven't had much success with velcro and Harley vibrations.

I only used the OEM headset once. on a 1500 mile solo trip. I must have gotten off the bike 10 times without unplugging first. That would put a lot of strain on velcro

Did you tie wrap the plug end itself or the cord?

I'm still trying to get a hold of the company. No one answers the phone the last 3 days and online chat says their office is closed. So I left an email for them. Hopefully they get back from vacation soon.

If they don't have a better solution I'll be drilling some holes in the helmets.
