Rear-end Stabilizers--What say you?
 

OK, these things have been out for awhile, so some of you have a couple of years experience with them by now. I'm interested in hearing from those who have them on their pre-09 touring bikes if they: 1) are worth the expense, 2) are holding up well and 3) produce any noticeable vibration that wasn't present before the installation? I'm referring to products such as Bagger Brace, True Track, Progressive Touring Link and others.

Yeah, I saw your post, but I'm interested in a long-term update from anyone who has had one for a couple of years. I'm concerned that once the newness wears off, some negatives may become apparent like vibrations or abnormal wear on the swingarm bushings or other parts.

Ah. Good point indeed. I'll be watching answers to this as well then. Interesting.

I could not be happier about my purches, and no probs as of yet,
not even a loose bolt or nut. Yes it dose vibrate a blond hair more
at idle but nothing major you can't go wrong its only 139.00 and very
well worth it, you wont be sorry.

These have been out for a decade or longer. Hundreds of posts. Only post I've read where a problem "developed" that wasn't there on installation was on a Touring link by Progressive. Apparently, at least on that model, the heim joint has a nylon bushing between the eye and the ball that went bad. The owner changed the joint for one w/o a bushing.

If vibrations occur, I think they'll occur at the time of installation. I have Sta-Bo's in mine. Here's my write up:

Bagger Brace here 2+ years. No issues at all. Bike feels way more solid, and I love the all billet construction of the BB. In all fairness tho, I only had the "wobble" one time before buying the brace. Long sweeping curve @ 85mph, and only way to describe it was like the bike broke in two right behind the seat. After getting it to the shoulder and calming down, I had 300+ miles till home. Ordered the brace the minute I walked in the door. Peace of mind was well worth the $250!

I've had my True-Track kit on for almost four years. I deliberately removed the link on one occasion and rode the bike with and without. I could detect the difference in 'feel', but not any vibration. The change in handling was a reminder to put it back on!. I used a Trackula kit and no problems or comments whatever, except how good the darned thing is!

If it needs repeating, my bike feels better as soon as it starts moving. The improvement in handling and steering are so worthwhile you really shouldn't hesitate and get one asap!
