Got to take a ride today (56K Warning)... extremely pic heavy
Well, I ride everyday but I thought some of my East Coast friends may enjoy the post.
I decided to take a run out to Valley of Fire today which lies just outside of Las Vegas. There are two ways to get there... freeway or scenic. I chose the scenic route which takes you through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
I entered the park on Lake Mead Blvd.
Since Valley of Fire is a State Park and Lake Mead is a National Park, they don't post signs for it.... but when you get to the end of the road, turn left.
Riding through Lake Mead Red. Area...
Even knowing this outlook was coming up I had to get hard on the binders… turn in 300' when going 70mph.

New fee station for Lake Mead going up on the Overton entrance.
Finally entering Valley of Fire, you can probably count on an 2hr travel time from the center of Las Vegas going the scenic route.
This is the read entrance to Valley of Fire, it is a fee area but the back entrance is Honor system. Put your money in an envelope and put it in a slot.
