Flash2Pass - It Did Not Work

Installed the Flash2Pass on a 7 year old Genie garage door opener and it did not work. The receiver red light would not blink. It will open and close the garage door though.

Followed the instruction for trouble shooting, but got nowhere.

Called customer service and they don't work on weekends - left a message.

I ordered the additional power cable, per the trouble shooting instructions. Only 4% of openers's need the $9.95 power cable, just my luck!

Will post after the new part arrives....

My old Genie needed the power adapter too. I was lucky, I had the right adapter in a junk drawer.

I had a similar problem and spoke with Marie quite a few times to troubleshoot it. Eventually they sent out new units to me. The whole issue was frustrating, but I have to say there customer service is well above average.

Mine did the same thing.

As far as I can remember, there is a minimum voltage requirement of something like 9 volts required for the receiver to function. Mine had something like 3 volts coming from the opener button. The red light did not blink on mine either.

I ordered the power supply and hooked it up and the red light started blinking and everything worked as designed.

I hope the power supply fixes yours too.

Thanks guys, waiting now for the power wire. I looked around the house but no luck, I'm sure I'll find one when I'm not looking.

I'm using the AC adaptor from a TomTom Rider GPS (what a POS GPS.... but that's another story)

Would this "Flash to Pass" work on a gate opener? Would save me from getting off my bike just to open & close my gate.

According to the link below it should. You'd have to wire the receiver to the gate somehow.
