Mine is affixed to the top of my tail light.

 

Ok....I guess I should have looked at your pic. Upside down won't work for you. Take the bracket off, use some snips to cut that bracket and throw the piece with the sticker on it in your bag. Pull if out if you ever need to....and if you get pulled over, I am sure you were on your way to the HD dealer to buy the appropriate bracket to mount the thing.......

When I had my Softail I cut the plate off cause I was proud of that 200mm rear tire. Trimmed it up and drilled a hole in it and put it under my passenger left side foot peg. Never had an issue and got pulled over once for no helmet and the cop was cool about it. Thought about doing something like that on my new SG but havent got around to seeing if that would work.

 

I make these have several for sale $5 free shipping,wont block liscense plate light and not twice as big as sticker are legal in Texas.

 

In the spirit of following the law (that made someone on here laugh on another post), mine is mounted on the rear exhaust hangar on a L-shaped bracket.

 

Here's what I came up with.

 

put mine vertical on the side on the same 90 degree bend bracket

 

Here is where i had my side plate mounted on my 98 at front swingarm, shipping day 4-7-11, had to put quiet exhaust on it to be able to get it into Norway, where the buyer lives.
