Default Now one more time, which plug is it?

I swear, between failing memory and just plain old not being able to find stuff on Google sometimes,

******************************************

2018 Road King standard

I thought there was a 12v power source in the nacelle, at least on previous models. One guy in the UK has a Youtube where he plugged into a pcb connector that had a orange or red and black wires to hook up his GPS, he said it was for the fender tip light

I'm wanting to do the same, add 12v power for a phone and/or GoPro. I'll split the power with the USB connector

I've got the headlight assembly off and all I see is some sort of single wire spade connector with a black wire, then another dead end plug that is wrapped with the light bulb wires. It is a blue and black colored wire assembly.

Do I need to look for another plug somewhere else or am I able to tap into the blue/black wire plug for 12V power? I don't know what powers the lightbulbs.

Or, do I have to all the way back to the aux port at the battery/tank area?

Those are them. Not sure what’s going on with colors though. But one is a loose spade and the other is dead end tied to lighting bundle. At least in 2011.

from what I can find out it's a 4-place Tyco Mate-N-Iok plug on circuit 29B, looks like the colors are right for the accessory circuit (I think).

there is a harness that plugs into it as mentioned here, Part No. 70458-05

https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....6?locale=en_US

I'm not sure that advances me any further. I would like a clean install, I think it's obtainable would like to know that others have done this.

Worst case I'll head to the dealer sometime this week and ask. Sometimes the parts guys know something, sometimes they don't. I have the headlight assy. off right now waiting on some handlebars, would like to knock all this out at once.

I pulled power from it. Can’t remeber what for though. I also did the lighting mod to keep the low beam, high beam, and passing lights all on at the same time. The one thing to consider is that the front fender light I think goes to accessories which routes through ignition so you don’t want to overload the ignition. You can use the $30 harness or you can just wire it in yourself. There are threads all over for this...search for road king passing lamp mod. A lot of people have used that as power for the passing lamps. I made up my own jumper wires and just re-routed some stuff that goes to the accessory switches so I didn’t have to chop existing wires.
If you are in there, now would be time to consider the light mod.Next time I pull my nacelle I will get some pictures but I think I found a better way to do that light mod than what is found in the lighting DIYs. You might be able to find hints at it if you search my posts. But the concept would be the same whether for lighting or gps.
