Inspection Stickers in Virginia
#11
I'm in Virginia. Had mine on the lower frame and was just forced to move it. If you get a strict inspector like I had...in Virginia it must be not only visible, but it must be on the left side of the bike from the engine forward. Engine guard plt is best on most touring models. Brake caliper lot is also acceptable, but doesn't look as good in my opinion. I was pissed mine had to be be moved, but it was that or fail. I admit I had mine where it was because it was NOT really visible.
If you put it on the engine guard lot and mount it perpendicular instead of horizontal it should be fine.

Pennsylvania (like many other states) does not have a standardized required location for the sticker. If I pull up next to a cop at a traffic light and he looks over the bike, he likely just figures the sticker is on the other side. If they required the sticker be placed on the license plate like some states are beginning to do, I couldn't get away with it any longer and I'd have to give in to the man.

The sticker is proof that a state certified vehicle inspector has checked that you have working headlight, tail light, brake light, turn signals, and horn and that your brake pads are not worn. In other words, that you paid someone to check items that you be checking yourself.
