Inspection Stickers in Virginia

Seeing some of the junk cars that are on the roads here in the states I am glad that there are annual inspections. Even though the inspections are not even close in depth as the ones I went through in Germany. Hell a two year old car passed inspection here in the states and then failed inspection in Germany.

Great forums guys. I just moved to Northern VA (Fredericksburg) and just purchased a sweet Softail Deluxe mostly chromed out and i have been wondering about where to put mine. The guy I bought the bike from just handed it to me when he delivered it and said, "You may need this". I will take a look tonight and see where I place mine after doing some work on the plate. Sucks that will be almost the only thing on my bike that isn't chrome...
I don't complain about inspections any more. I went a few years without one and started working at Quantico. Figured one day one of the MP's might notice, so I went in for a check. Low and behold, my brake light was staying on, had no idea. When I checked, I discovered that it was only happening after the bike warmed up. That would have sucked with the a$$holes on 95.

Harleycharlie88,
Welcome to the forum and VA. Not much has changed over the past couple years with inspections. If my bike is in for service, I had the HD do the inspection. More often than not though, I have had the inspection done at regular service shops (Virginia Tire and Auto is where I had my last 3 inspections conducted). No hassle at all. One thing to note, if you do not have a sticker plate affixed to your bike on the left side, they will put it on the left fork. Ran like that for a year when I first moved here several years back and that sticker is a pain in the @$$ to remove from the fork. No issues from my optic here in northern Virginia.

For 10 years, I’ve been using the same guy for all my vehicles.
I don’t even have to get off the bike for the inspection.
I won’t “out” him on a public forum so he can keep his job, and I can keep using the same guy.
The VA State police often “test” inspectors to make sure they are doing their inspections properly.
