There is a local HD dealer in York that is well worth stopping into. They have their own museum of bikes. I wish I knew that when I was in York. Call ahead on the tour. I did the first tour in the morning. I was glad because tour buses stop in with none bike riding people.

OK, great. Thanks for all the info eveybody. So the big take away is don't plan to go on a Friday. I guess we should plan on going in August after the new bikes have been released.

Seems like I remember that the bikes aren't going to be announced until late August or Sept this year. Or is it next year? Anyway, better call to check.
It's a great tour.

What a coincedence, after reading this thread this morning, I had a contractor I do business show up here in FL from PA. I had mentioned to him previously that it would be nice to have a T-shirt from a PA HD dealer if he head the time. What did he show up with: HD Vehicle Operations T-shirt from the York, PA facility!! Nice and appreciated. If anyone is in the power plant business and needs cooling tower work done call Keystone Process Solutions. Russell, the owner, is great to work with.

@ PROSTAR , I think the dealership you are thinking of is LAEGERMAN'S ?? (spelling), it is located almost directly across from the assembly plant on PA. Rte. 30.

Just a tip, if you wait till the end of September you can go when they have their "open house". It's a huge attraction and a lot of vendors come in and set up in the parking lot.

How important is it to get there right away/early? Would hate to get all the way there only to find out the tours are booked for the day. Wife and I are planning a day trip for this and Gettysburg when vacationing DC in mid-June. I don't want to miss out but don't want to leave DC before dawn either.

FWIW, I ordered my new bike & my dealer said the touring bike (York, PA) plant was shutting down the first of April. They're converting to the new models & from what he understood HD was also revamping the production line.

From what I understood (and could be wrong) was the new production line will have the flexibility to switch models mid-stream during a production run.

Anybody else know for sure?

Oh, we also plan on stopping by there the middle of August for a tour, riding on one of their beauties...
