Up Date on DIY Mod's

In the DIY Mods &Tricks to Save section there are 941 threads and almost all are interesting. Out of the 941 half are about Garage Door Opener. So needing one I went with the one that used an odometer switch which I solder on my opener and I mounted the switch on my inner fairing opposite of my actual odometer button. I then secure the opener to the top of my radio with velcro where I thought it would be a good solid place, push the button and it worked great I put everything back together and backed out to go for a ride. I hit the botton and nothing then I rode back in and it worked. Well after a few Beers and a lot of words I will not bore you with, I took it back apart outside this time. What I found was if I took it off the radio it would work so not being an Electronic Eng. I quest it something to with the metal radio housing interfering with the waves. Just thought I would past this on just incase there or other electronically challenged people on the Forum

Pic is from how I fixed the bracket, but you can see where I put my remote. I can open the GD from 3 houses away.

Thanks I velcro and then strapped mine to the Elect. Harness I thought this would cut down on the vibration. My driveway is 1/10 of a mile long and cover with trees, it works now as soon as I clear the trees.
