Default Wheel Bearings

Took, Ole Whitey in to get a rear tire(16,000 miles on E-3) and the rear axle was hard to get out(even though it had never seize on it). The indy I use finally got it out, the wheel bearing was bad. I have read on here of them going bad, but with 80,000 miles I guess it was time. Glad he found it rather than it going out on a ride. Gonna pick the bike up this morning and treat her to a hot bath and then go riding. Momma going to get to see if she likes the tourpack being back farther.

Much better to use a thin film of lithium grease on axles rather than anti-sieze. I've had anti-sieze dry out and make axles very hard to remove, very aggravating. No such problem with lithium grease.

I put the relocater kit on and can only go back about an inch or the back of her legs are against the crash bar to much. By the looks of your picture she may have the same problem. But that inch sure is welcome for me.

Just have to say it. Some women might like another inch.

I am going to find out this evening, if it does, I am going to try to get her to use the adjustable pegs and see if that helps. I am hoping she likes the distance(got to be careful how you phrase things on here, LOL)between us and makes us both happy.

On another note: Total cost was 283.00 for tire and wheelbearings. Not to bad I think.. I couldn't find exact mileage on the old E-3 but it was Apr. 2010 when I put it on. So two years, guessing 16,000 miles or more....
