Air shock presure question.

So how much should i be running in the shocks with the wife on back, she's "thick" lol

08 Ultra, i run as high as 46 psi. Depends, loaded and off to see this beautiful country, then it's around 44 to 46.

Man that's alot of pressure, my 08 owners manual says max is 35psi for all but the FLHX. I'm 160, gf 140 full load for trip anf 20 psi was great. To op I would say go with the recommendations in the manual and adjust from there.

+1 same for trips, but I never have lowered the press after a trip now that I think about it...

My book says at GVWR dont put in no more than 20-35 ....So is that BS? Riding 2 up and both far from "skinny" should i run around 40-45 psi?

07 SG I run 30-35 lbs 2-up

depends on year/model- best to look in the manual and adjust the pressure so that the shocks do not "top out" or bottom out.

marvo post year/model when asking questions.

specs do change

I know this is not the answer you want to hear, but trial and error is the best way to find what works for you. Even a pound or 2 makes a difference. I ride solo 99% of the time, and found that 14 lbs is the magic number for me.

Your 04 will have the same shocks as my 06. the newer models need more PSI to get the same results.

07 UC 34 psi.
