Navigation interface on a non-ultra

Has anyone installed a Navigation Interface Module on a Road Glide or Street Glide?

My question is.... what the hell do you do with connector 6a and 6b, since all we have is the 6b side.

I called the mother ship, and they suggested I use the 70169-06 harness, since it has the 6a interconnect connector. $120 bucks for that harness. Like they don't have enough of my money.

You don't need the NUOH, just the 69200033 harness. Connect the 6A from the NIM harness to the 6B on your bike; you'll have an unused 6B from the NIM harness. The instructions are simply wrong for a non-Ultra bike.

So I can use 69200033 instead of the non-ultra overlay? That would save me serious bucks .... and a lot of room in the fairing.

Thanks much.

I'm going to assume pins 4 8 19 27 and 31 are correct. And can you confirm the pin connections on the jumper wire in 69200033. It hurts to have to think this much.

Correct; use the 69200033 harness. Below are the installation instructions for the NIM. I didn't check the wire assignments, but these instructions correct a mistake made by HD when the NIM and Ipod were first introduced; they also refer to a newer version of the NIM.

Those are the instructions I have. In the picture 6b is full... but in the instructions for 69200033 6b has the jumper going to it. I'm no where near my bike so I can't look..... do I have to remove 5 and 4 from 6b for the jumper? Or is this just more faulty instructions?

Here are the instructions for the 69200033 harness:

The 6B connector on your bike doesn't have anything in the 4 and 5 chambers of the 6B connector. You'll add those per the above instructions.

Yep, you're right ..... couldn't remember since I was at work.

Got home and dug into it. Got it working, but still need to clean up the wiring and reroute the GPS harness. But the important part is..... I can have some beer and kill those brain cells I just woke up.

Thanks a bunch for your help....... I'll buy you a tall one if I ever see you.:icon_beerchug:
