1993 FLHTC, Best Battery?
Need a new battery for my 1993 FLHTC.
What's everyone using now a days? How long do they last?
Thinking about getting a dry cell, Odyssey PC680.
Do I really need the Metal Jacket (MJ) option? It adds another $40 to the price. Supposed to help the battery withstand the HD vibration and heat.

I had 2 odysseys fail:
1 went open internally, stranding me at side of the road
the warranty replacement battery also failed internally, shorting out.
luckily I was at the bike and heard it, was able to get the battery out using bolt cutters on the cables before the bike/garage/house burned down.
the next warranty replacement i sold for $100
the $140 battery bought me a $150 tow, numerous trips to batteries plus, and all new cables to replace the cut--- so I was out about $225
the H-D agm is good and the non-branded DEKA is good too, at 1/2 the price of the odyssey
google will find you a local deka dealer.
how long a a battery lasts depends on how it is used, if the bike sits during a week a tender is smart, if you ride everyday for more than 40 miles, it'll last for years
