My steel discs and friction discs look good. The thickness on the friction discs is .149. Does anyone know the thickness of a brand new stock Harley friction disc?
Jamie recommended the spring they install on the new 103's. I don't know the spring pressure and I haven't had a chance to ride since installing it. I'm hoping that it will be strong enough. How does a person find the pressure rating on the springs? The parts guy wasn't much help.
I just retrieved my original spring from my 09 FLHX. It has a brownish redish mark on it. What is the rating on this one??
I do not know for a fact but I have been told 280. I took that one out of my 08 as well. It feels super light to me, lighter than the 280 number that I was told.
I spoke too soon. I failed to notice that two of the steel discs have grooves in them. Fortunately I caught this. I think these discs were in the back of the clutch pack so this must have been where the slippage was taking place. After weighing a few options I am ordering the Energy One clutch pack with extra disc and performance spring. P/N BT-14. There are some good deals out there to be found. $127.95 plus shipping. Not bad.

The wear is always worse next to the hub, or at least that has been my experiences with my m/c clutches.
I will be interested to see what the Energy One spring is rated at. It says 10% stronger than stock, so I will check whether they put a color code dot on it.
