I'm 3 miles from I16 in Metter and we will probably ride down on Thursday afternoon taking country roads to Fleming Island (southwestly of Jacksonville) for Thursday night with a friend. Then over to the Gator Nationals in Gainesville on Friday then hitting Daytona Sat, Sun, maybe Monday then back to Metter.

We ( me and two buddies ) will be passing through ATL about 3-4 am on Saturday, we'll be the ones in a black truck and trailer, lol. ..... unless we decide to stop at our cabin in Sevierville, TN and sleep for 5-6 hours then make the drive to our friends place in Eustis, Fl. As I age, I vote to stop in TN vs the 18 hr drive from Michigan. I like my Dmax...just like the beds at our cabin a lot more than the back seat of a crew cab pick up., lol. Sunday for us at the NHRA Gator Nationals...then bike week : )

There are three of us heading down to Daytona from ATL on Friday AM....leaving real early from just north of the perimeter. We've got hotel reservations in New Smyrna Beach and my buddies want to get the 500 mile patch/pin (500 miles in 12 hours or less) so we're taking a round about way to get there. Heading to Augusta, then Savannah, then south to New Smyrna Beach. We're heading back on Monday AM............

If you want to avoid the tense part take I-295 & 9A the other way to Heckshire Dr. Follow that east to the Mayport ferry. Cross the river on the ferry & take A1A all the way to St. Augustine. It'll take you a little longer, but it's a much nicer ride.
