Adjustable pushrods for cam change
#12
I just put the Andrews 21H in my '07 Ultra yesterday & reused the stock pushrods. It was a bit of a pain as I didn't remove the gas tank, just took the tank bolts out and lifted the tank front & back propping it up with 1" styrofoam blocks. I didn't unhook anything, lifting it as carefully as I could. Some of the left side rocker cover bolts were hard to get to, but not impossible. It took me about 8 hours - YMMV. I have a problem with cutting perfectly good push rods. It's just . . . . wrong.
Total cost was under $300.00 and I love the cam. Whoever said the 21 is too much like stock is misguided. There is a huge difference.

I am thinking about the 21 for my bike. Still pondering, but I know I won't be using the HD smog cams. And I don't want a cam with lift, duration, and other characteristics that would be detrimental to a stock motor. (valves, springs, etc.) Glad the 21 is working for so many.
I'll go with adjustables because they are just that, adjustable for a proper fit and should serve to minimize the ticking...as has been experienced by several. But I am still pondering.
