Default Another speaker question..RF or focal

Rockford Fosgate power series t1s652 88dB sensitivity rating. $80.00
Focal Access 165CA1 92dB sensitivity. $100.00

Which would give best sound powered by RF PBR300X4 300 watt amp?

Or any other recommendation?

I understand the lower sensitivity requires more power but I will have power to spare. I will have 75 watts per channel and the RMS rating of the speakers is 60.
Also, is one better to deal with weather?

I am also interested in this. I did think that Focal were a bit more expensive though. I am currently thinking of changing my speakers to something different as well. Am currently running the Arc mini and Arc 6.5's. I was looking into Hertz/Biketronics Titan. If a decent Focal for $100 though......

The Focal Access line is their entry level speaker... if fact I dont think they actually build that line. I believe that line is being built in China... I'm sure they probably sound decent but if you want real quality Focal speakers I would recommend that you go up a level or two. The Focal CVX models (6.5" or sometimes referred to as a 6.75") has a built in crossover for the tweeter and woofer. Would be well worth the extra money. Crutchfield has them listed as discontinued but they are ususaly on ebay and I seen that Fatbaggers still had them for sale on their site.

Focal, I use them in 90% of my builds. They are excellent speakers and handle the power of the Alpine PDX F6 amp wonderfully. They do not have a harsh tweeter and can reproduce midbass very well. I always recomend these first when fabricating

I've been running the RF 6.5 power series speakers for the last few weeks with that amp and am very happy. The focals may sound better but can you tell at 75 mph? I am an audiophile but realize on a motorcycle all you can hear when riding is mid and highs over the wind and engine noise. Loud and clear is what I was after and got it with the RF- with the right song I can feel the snare drum hitting my chest.

By the way that price on the Focal is super cheap normally around my city these are selling for $199.99 now they have come down a bit due to the new IC165 but still $100 is an amazing price I might pick up a few pairs to have at that price since I build so many audio projects..

I just had a long discussion with 2 audio stores/dealers today ..Crutchfield being one of them .. I was looking at Focal and Rockford fosgate ...and pushing them with a PBR300x2 amp .... after it was all said and done ,talking about amp and speaker wattages and blown speakers from running then right at the max rated RMS wattages ,Fosgate is out --- and the Focals that could safely handle the load , way to pricey.... I will be going with the new POLK mm651 model.... more power handling capabilities and better moisture and UV protection... with top quality sound... We'll see how they sound when they get here ....

I'm going with the focal 165 VB, a step up from the Access line.
