Curious what eye wear folks here use and think is best? I wear contacts and a 1/2 helmet with sunglasses. But, I think I need something that will seal around my eyes better to keep my contacts from getting so dry. I don't really care for goggles, but I don't mind the sunglasses that have an elastic strap to keep them sealed around your eyes. Thanks...

 

When only the best will do - I wear my C3 except in the hottest of weather - $699.00 - Expensive but most guys on here pay more for their exhaust - I know it's not what most HD riders wear & that’s OK - With me anyway - Living where I do I ride year around - it's really nice in the winter - also the flip down sun screen is awesome

I wear prescription progessives with self tint.

"wayfarer" style frames stay on to over 135, with no tearing or turbulence behind the lens ( aviators have really bad turbulence from 25 up).

I've stayed away from the "goggle types" and oakleys as I find they restrict peripheral vision, they oakleys do seal and stay on well

I too have the problem with the dry contacts. I wear Panoptx with the foam around the eye cups. Look like sunglasses, work like goggles. I've noticed since I got a bike with a windshield, that I am able to ride in regular sunglasses with much less dry eye problems.

 

Not sure what the 'best' eye wear is....
I wear a cheap pair of Z-tek safety glasses and they work just fine.
I also wear contacts and set behind a 10" shield....

 

A lot of sunglasses cause a whole bunch of distortion that can really mess up your eyes. Hold the glasses up in front of you away from your face a bit and look through each lens one at a time, one side will be worse than the other. Look at a pole that is not too close to you that goes ceiling to floor, most stores have them all over the place. Check the line of the pole before it enters the top of the sun glasses and then compare that to how far offset the pole is looking through the glasses. They are not perfectly in line, that is the distortion. The less distortion the better. It is hard to find a pair of sunglasses where the pole is not completely offset so that the two halves are barely connected.

I find the expensive sunglasses are usually the worst, you are buying a name, not something good. All sunglasses have distortion, but some have just a little. Those are the best ones.

 

I like Maui Jim's...expensive and worth the money.

 

Exactly same here. I have a few different pai of panoptx. Right now I like the 24/7 I can wear them with or with out eye cup.

 

Another contact wearer here, and wear an Arai Profile full-face helmet, with either a dark shield or a clear shield with a strip of blue painter's masking tape across the shield to help keep the sun out.
